Terms of service

These are the terms that govern your use of Folio Guides and everything we sell. We've written them to be readable — not because we had to, but because if something applies to you, we'd rather you actually understand it. The legal protections are all here. The jargon isn't.
By using our store or purchasing anything from us, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the store. Simple.
Who we are
Folio Guides is the company behind this store. When we say "we", "us", or "our", that's us. Our store runs on Shopify — which means Shopify powers the infrastructure, but every sale you make is directly with Folio Guides, not Shopify. More on that in Section 9.
Section 1 — Access and accounts
You need to be the age of majority in your country or region to use this store. If you let a minor use our services on your device, you're responsible for that.
When you give us your information — email, payment details, anything — it needs to be accurate and up to date. You're responsible for keeping your account secure. Don't share your login or hand your account to someone else.
Section 2 — Our products
We're a digital product business. What you're buying are PDF guides — instantly delivered, no physical item shipped.
We do our best to represent our guides accurately. Because these are digital products, colours and formatting may look slightly different depending on your screen or PDF reader. We don't consider this a defect.
We can update, remove, or change any product at any time. If a guide you've already purchased is updated, you'll receive the new version as part of our free lifetime updates policy.
Section 3 — Orders
When you place an order, you're making an offer to buy. We accept that offer when we confirm your order and process your payment. Read your order carefully before confirming — once accepted, we may not be able to cancel it.
If we decline your order for any reason, we'll contact you using the details you provided. We won't charge you for an order we don't fulfil.
Returns and refunds are handled under our Refund Policy. The short version: 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.
Our guides are for personal use only — not for commercial resale or redistribution.
Section 4 — Prices and billing
Prices are shown in the store at the time you order. That's the price you pay. We may run promotions and discount codes from time to time — these have their own terms, and if there's a conflict, the promotion terms apply.
You agree to provide accurate billing and payment information. By completing a purchase, you confirm that:
- The payment details you provide are valid and belong to you
- You're authorised to use the payment method
- The charge will be honoured by your bank or card issuer
- You'll pay what's shown, including any applicable taxes
Prices are subject to change, but your confirmed order locks in the price at checkout.
Section 5 — Delivery
We sell instant-download digital products. Delivery happens automatically — your download link is sent to your email within 60 seconds of payment clearing.
If your link doesn't arrive, check your spam folder first, then contact us at support@getfolioguides.com and we'll sort it out immediately.
Because nothing is physically shipped, we have no carrier delays, customs issues, or transit risk to disclaim. This section exists to cover us legally in the rare event of a delivery system issue outside our control. In practice, if something goes wrong with your delivery, we fix it — fast.
Section 6 — Intellectual property
Everything in our store — the guides, the website, the branding, the copy, the design — belongs to Folio Guides or the people who licensed it to us.
When you buy a guide, you're buying a personal licence to read and use it. You're not buying the right to copy it, share it, resell it, publish it, or distribute it. Our guides are for your personal use only.
The Folio Guides name, the Folio. wordmark, and our product names are our trademarks. Don't use them without asking us first.
Shopify's name and trademarks belong to Shopify. Everything else on the store belongs to its respective owner.
Section 7 — Third-party tools
We use third-party tools to run parts of our business — payment processors, email platforms, analytics, and so on. We don't control these tools and aren't responsible for how they behave. If you choose to use any optional third-party integration or link through to a third-party service, that's between you and them.
Section 8 — External links
Our store may link to external websites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. If you follow a link off our store, you do so at your own risk. We'd encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party site before engaging with it.
Section 9 — Our relationship with Shopify
This section is required by Shopify and accurately describes how our store works. We can't remove or change it.
Folio Guides is powered by Shopify. Any purchase you make is a direct transaction with Folio Guides — Shopify is not a party to that transaction and accepts no responsibility for anything you buy here. By using our store, you release Shopify and its affiliates from any claims arising from your purchases or interactions with Folio Guides.
Section 10 — Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. What we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Because our store runs on Shopify, some of your data is also processed by Shopify. You can read Shopify's Privacy Policy directly. By using our store, you're acknowledging both.
Section 11 — Feedback and reviews
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or reviews — thank you. We genuinely read them and they shape what we build next.
By submitting feedback, you give us a permanent, royalty-free licence to use it — for example, to improve our guides, quote in marketing (where permitted), or share with potential buyers. We won't pay you for feedback, but we will read it. You confirm that anything you send us is your own, accurate, and doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
We may remove reviews or feedback that are defamatory, false, or otherwise harmful. We won't edit your words to change your meaning.
Section 12 — Errors and corrections
We try to keep everything on our store accurate. If we get something wrong — a price, a product description, a discount code — we reserve the right to correct it, even after an order is placed. We'll always contact you if a correction affects your order.
Section 13 — Prohibited uses
Use our store lawfully and honestly. Don't use it to:
- Break any law or regulation
- Infringe on anyone's intellectual property
- Harass, harm, or deceive anyone — including our team
- Spread spam, malware, or malicious code
- Scrape, copy, or systematically extract content from our store
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Resell or commercially exploit our products or content
- Interfere with the security or operation of the store
We can suspend or terminate your access at any time if we believe you've violated these terms.
Section 14 — Automated agents and AI tools
If you use automated software, bots, or AI agents to access our store, the following rules apply:
- The agent must identify itself as an agent in all requests (include "Agent/[agent name]" in the user agent string)
- It must not impersonate a human or bypass CAPTCHA or verification measures
- It must answer truthfully if asked whether it's a human or a computer
- It must not circumvent any access controls we put in place
We reserve the right to block or limit automated access at any time.
Section 15 — Termination
We can end your access to our store at any time, for any reason, without notice. If that happens, any amounts you owe us up to that point remain payable.
Sections covering intellectual property, feedback, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and governing law survive termination — they stay in effect regardless of whether you're still a customer.
Section 16 — Disclaimer of warranties
Our guides are built with care and designed to deliver real, actionable value. That said, we can't guarantee that any guide will meet every individual's specific expectations or produce specific outcomes — results depend on how you use them.
Our store and products are provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these kinds of disclaimers, so they may not apply to you in full.
Section 17 — Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Folio Guides — and our partners, directors, employees, affiliates, contractors, and service providers, including Shopify's affiliates — won't be liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of our store or products. This includes lost profits, lost data, or any similar loss.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions limit liability exclusions, so this may not apply to you in full.
Section 18 — Indemnification
If a third party brings a claim against us because of something you did — including violating these terms, breaking a law, or infringing someone's rights — you agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, in defending that claim.
We'll notify you of any such claim and may ask you to cooperate in its defence.
Section 19 — Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest continues to apply in full.
Section 20 — Entire agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the complete agreement between you and Folio Guides. They replace any prior agreements, whether written or verbal.
If we don't enforce any part of these terms at a given time, that doesn't mean we've waived our right to enforce them later.
Section 21 — Assignment
You can't transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to anyone else without our written consent. We can transfer ours without needing yours.
Section 22 — Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Folio Guides is headquartered. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.
Section 23 — Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll post the updated version here and note the date. For material changes, we'll notify you in accordance with applicable law. Continuing to use our store after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
